    It is important to make sure that your appliance is installed properly and connected to the electrical supply safely.

    Place the appliance in a well-ventilated humidity-free room without obstructing the rear fan or grills grills. Your appliance will give off some heat during normal operation and it needs good ventilation to operate properly and efficiently.

    Always check the instructions in the user manual for details on your specific appliance, but the steps below will give you some general guidance.
  • 1. Remove all the packaging from around and inside your appliance and check that it has not been damaged during transportation or delivery. If you do find any damage, do not try to install the appliance, but contact the supplier to get any problems resolved.
  • 2. Make sure that your appliance is on a level and sturdy floor. If your floor is uneven, the front feet can be adjusted until the appliance is level.

    After levelling, the appliance will need to rest in order for its internal gasses to settle before it is switched on. Check your user manual for the recommended resting time, but this can be up to four hours.
  • 3. As a general rule, aim to leave a space of at least 10 cm between the top part of your appliance and anything above it, and at least 10 cm between the sides and any furniture or walls.

    Ensure that the appliance is not placed where it can be subject to any sources of heat such as direct sunlight, radiators, electric heaters or cookers and so on.

    Some appliances may be supplied with special spacers to fit on the rear of the appliance to keep it the correct distance from any walls; check your user manual for details on this.
  • 4. The socket must be properly grounded (earthed) and be able to sustain the appliances maximum power, which is indicated on a label generally fixed on the inside, or on a side panel or on the rear of the appliance.

    The mains electric voltage must be within the values indicated on a label generally fixed on the inside, or on a side panel or on the rear of the appliance.

    The socket must be compatible with your appliance plug. Should this not be the case, replace the plug or the socket (always have this type of work carried out by a competent person or qualified electrician).
  • 5. Once installed, the appliance's electrical wire and plug must be within reach and must not be bent or squashed.
  • 6. WARNING: The plug must not be used without a fuse cover. If a replacement fuse holder/cover is required, it must be of the same colour coding or wording as shown on the base of the plug.
