My washing machine is noisy or jumps when spinning

1. Check that all the ‘transit’ or ‘shipping’ bolts have been removed.

For more information, see the Removing the shipping or transit bolts topic.

2. Check that the polystyrene base (transit block) has been removed from the underside of the appliance. Carefully tilt the appliance back to check and remove.

Take care: the appliance will be very heavy, you may need some help to move it.

3. Check that the appliance is level. If the appliance is not level on a firm floor during washing, the appliance will jump and rattle. Ensure all feet are touching the floor to reduce potential damage.

Take care: the appliance will be very heavy, so you may need some help to move it.

For more information, see the Adjusting the feet topic.

4. Check there is a clearance gap around the appliance. Washing machines move and vibrate when washing and should not be directly touching any cabinets or surfaces.

5.

Check the pump filter for debris. These can interfere with the moving part of the pump and make a loud noise when the machine spins or empties water out.

For more information, see the Cleaning the pump filter topic.

6. A grating or screeching sound from the appliance when it is spinning indicates there is an item trapped in the drum.

Please contact the after-sales service team (Items caught in the drum are not covered by the warranty).
