Cleaning the Drain Hole and Water Pan
- Your appliance has a drain-hole inside on the rear panel; this helps to allow any excess water to drain away, keeping the fridge ‘frost-free’. The drain hole must be kept clean to ensure that the appliance can drain correctly, stopping water from collecting inside.
Make sure that you regularly check for any excess build up of debris, frost or water in the fridge compartment channel or drain hole. - 1. Turn off the appliance by turning the temperature adjustment knob (thermostat) to 0.
- 2. Unplug the mains plug.
- 3. Open the fridge door.
- 4. Clear any debris which is trapped in the drain hole channel.
- 5. Clear any blockage away with a plastic straw or cotton bud or a suitable alternative which will not damage the appliance.
- 6. Close the fridge door.
- 7. Carefully turn the appliance around to gain access to the water pan.
- 8. Remove the screws from the water pan.
- 9. Remove the water pan.
- 10. Remove any debris from the water pan, then clean the water pan with bicarb or warm soapy water, then wipe dry with a clean soft cloth.
- 11. Replace the water pan.
- 12. Replace the screws in the water pan.
- 13. Carefully turn the appliance around.
- 14. Plug the appliance into the mains power and switch on.
- 15. Open the fridge door.
- 16. Turn the appliance on by turning the temperature adjustment knob to the desired temperature.
